Our Story

Axl Foundation started in October 2023 in honor of our son, Axl, who died suddenly due to a seizure. We are committed to supporting children with special needs by raising money to provide grants for service dogs. Service dogs can provide safety, support, independence and companionship to the children we serve. In just one year since our inception, we have been able to help four children by providing grants for their service dogs.

The cost of a service dog can be pretty daunting for families who are taking care of a child with special needs. Service dog trainers specifically match the dog’s natural ability with the needs of the child so the team can be the most successful and the cost for breeding and training can be upwards of $20,000.

Through the support of our community, we have been able to raise money for this cause. We are commited to raising more money each year so we can provide an invaluable resource for families who are already juggling the everyday challenges of taking care of a special needs child.
